It has been proven over the years that people buy from people they like. Because of this it is critical that the human touch not be lost in the scope of providing good, cost effective services. What is delivered is much less important than how it is delivered. Relationships MUST come first.
In today's complex computing environment clients have come to expect very high levels of service at lower rates delivered faster than every before.
This forces vendors to:
- Constantly monitor profitability - usually without accurate data
- Scrutinize delivery systems - typically with no formal plan
- Intermittently modify services offered in a "band aid" fashion
- Develop and maintain relationships
Relationships are typically high on the priority list but, receive the least attention resulting in:
- A Something Is Missing attitude from the client
- Sterile environements where the human touch is lost
- Client receiving inconsistent levels of service
- Less than acceptable profitability - assuming it can even be tracked effectively
The "something is missing" attitude is a warning sign that the client will eventually begin to look at other options even though they continue to say the service is good. The attitude begins to display itself in the day to day operations where the smallest problem suddenly becomes a major issue requiring senior manangement involvment from both sides. Eventually the client becomes less cooperative in helping the vendor to meet their needs and the relationship deteriorates into a reactive situation where the vendor attempts to fix the problem by increasing its services and costs with no real evidence of improvement.
The actions taken to deliver on the last part of the mission statement "with a smile and professional courtesy second to none" are what differentiates them from the competition and "nothing is missing".
All solutions developed by ProgressOne are aimed at placing the company in a position of high value to their clients to the point the company becomes the vendor the client can't afford to lose. Isn't this where we all want to be?
